Tarun Mitra Parishad Marks 50 Glorious Years of Service with a Historic Health Insurance Initiative

A Golden Milestone in Community Service (1975–2025)

Tarun Mitra Parishad, one of India’s respected social service organizations, recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary (Golden Jubilee) with a landmark event in New Delhi. Held at Pyarelal Bhawan, ITO, the celebration was not merely a ceremonial gathering—it stood as a powerful reflection of five decades of unwavering commitment to service, compassion, and social upliftment.

Founded in 1975, Tarun Mitra Parishad has consistently worked for the betterment of underprivileged students, persons with disabilities, and economically weaker sections of society. Completing fifty years of continuous social service is a rare achievement, and the Parishad’s journey stands as a testimony to sustained grassroots impact.

A Vision Rooted in Service and Values

From its inception, the Parishad has focused on education support, healthcare assistance, disability rehabilitation, and empowerment of marginalized communities. Over the years, it has organized book distributions, scholarships, eye camps, medical aid programs, and skill-development initiatives, touching thousands of lives across generations.

The Golden Jubilee celebration reaffirmed these core values while also setting new benchmarks in community welfare.

A First-of-Its-Kind Health Insurance Initiative for Children

One of the most significant and inspiring highlights of the Golden Jubilee event was the provision of health insurance coverage to more than 500 underprivileged children.

Each child was provided a ₹50,000 medical insurance policy, ensuring access to essential healthcare when needed. This initiative is especially noteworthy as it marks the first time a social organization like Tarun Mitra Parishad has implemented such a large-scale, structured health insurance program for students.

This step reflects a deep understanding that education alone is not enough without health security—a principle strongly echoed in India’s national development vision.

Inspired by the Vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The health insurance initiative draws inspiration from the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, whose emphasis on inclusive growth, social security, and last-mile delivery has transformed India’s welfare landscape.

Schemes such as Ayushman BharatJan Dhan Yojana, and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana have demonstrated how healthcare and financial protection can be brought to the most vulnerable. Following this spirit, Tarun Mitra Parishad adopted a similar philosophy at the community level—ensuring that children from weaker backgrounds are not left helpless during medical emergencies.

This initiative reflects the idea that “Nation-building begins with protecting its children”, a belief central to the Prime Minister’s governance model.

Comprehensive Support Beyond Health Insurance

In addition to health insurance, the Golden Jubilee program included the distribution of:

  • Educational books, stationery, and learning aids to students
  • Scholarships and track suits for deserving children
  • Wheelchairs, artificial limbs, and orthopaedic aids for persons with disabilities
  • Battery-operated sewing machines for needy women to promote self-reliance

An international magic show for children added joy and inspiration to the event, making it both meaningful and memorable.

Leadership and Collective Effort

The event was graced by Hon’ble Mayor of Delhi, Shri Raja Iqbal Singh, as the Chief Guest, who lauded the Parishad’s five-decade-long contribution to society. He emphasized that governments alone cannot drive social progress without active participation from responsible social organizations.

The program was led by Shri Ashok Jain, Founder and President of Tarun Mitra Parishad, whose vision laid the foundation of the organization. Shri Manoj Kumar Jain, General Secretary and Nominated MCD Councillor, played a key role in coordinating and executing the Golden Jubilee initiatives, including the health insurance program.

Several eminent guests, donors, and partner institutions also supported the event, reinforcing the spirit of collective responsibility.

A Model for Future Social Initiatives

The 50-year celebration of Tarun Mitra Parishad was not just a look back at the past—it was a blueprint for the future. By integrating education, healthcare, and empowerment, the Parishad has set an example for how social organizations can align their work with national priorities and global best practices.

As India moves toward a stronger, more inclusive future, initiatives like these ensure that no child is left behind—healthy, educated, and empowered.

Conclusion: Service That Builds the Nation

The Golden Jubilee of Tarun Mitra Parishad stands as a powerful reminder that consistent service, guided by values and inspired by national leadership, can create lasting change. The health insurance initiative for 500+ children will continue to protect lives long after the celebrations end—making this milestone not just historic, but truly transformative.

Tarun Mitra Parishad’s journey proves that service is the strongest form of nation-building, and the next chapter promises even greater impact.
